Drag artist documentary brings South Korean LGBTQ community into focus
When it comes to gay rights, South Korea isn’t exactly an LGBTQ affirming country – but queer cinema is making its mark. One visually impressive documentary I Am More – which is being shown this month at the London Korean Film Festival – tells the story of a transgender drag artist in Seoul called More, following her work, family and love life. Tom Brook meets the documentary's star and director to hear about the impact their story is having.
