On his way to the Nacrene City Gym, Ash decides to stop by the Pok茅mon Battle Club in Luxuria Town to have a battle in preparation for his upcoming Nacrene Gym Battle. He is surprised to find his Unova region rival, Trip, is there as well! So Ash challenges Trip, and although reluctant as first, Trip agrees to a Five-On-Five Battle. Meanwhile, Team Rocket has arrived at the Dreamyard, where they are surrounded by Officer Jenny鈥檚 police force!
