Any conversation on Indian handicrafts is incomplete without turning the spotlight on the magnificent silk sarees or the beautiful hand-woven carpets. They are still famous the world over although the weaving industry has had its share of troubles after the country opened up its economy some three decades ago. What happened afterwards?
