In session

Music, this week, from a Kidderminster band of 11, who first started playing music as a close group of friends.
Ìý
They say with little to do but misbehave, they all turned to music!
Ìý
Seven years later - George, Mike, Lad, Burgs, another George, Sid, Phil, Matt, Will, Kris and another Matt make up ska group The Stiff Joints!
Ìý
We love what they do so much, that we sent them to the iconic Â鶹ԼÅÄ Maida Vale studios, in London, to record us a very special live session.

Â鶹ԼÅÄ Music Introducing at Maida Vale

Maida Vale - we’ve all heard of it, and we’ve all definitely heard at least one performance that was recorded at those legendary studios.
Ìý
Everyone from David Bowie, Adele, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Jay-Z, Arctic Monkeys, Little Mix have all performed there. It is the sign that you have truly made it as an artist when you get the opportunity to perform at this iconic venue.Ìý
Ìý
This year, Â鶹ԼÅÄ Music Introducing offered out the opportunity for all of its local shows to put forward one act from each area to perform a session at Maida Vale. This week, every local Introducing team played their chosen artist’s session on-air, showcasing 36 of our ones to watch. This is the first time this has ever happened in Introducing’s history.
Ìý
Those chosen to perform are pipped to be the next David Bowie, the next Adele, the next Jay-Z, the next BIG THING.

Equipping the stars

Would you ever have guessed that somewhere on an industrial estate, in Kidderminster, there’s a massive warehouse that deals with a third of the world’s technical support for big music brands like Behringer, Klark Teknik and Midas?
Ìý
Music Tribe is a global company which has based its service and repair centre for these big brands and more here in Worcestershire.
Ìý
And amongst their clientele are Mariah Carey, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Spice Girls and Kings of Leon.

Â鶹ԼÅÄ Music Introducing Live: James Bay

His first single went platinum, first album to #1, he won the Critics Choice award at the Brits and was nominated for a Grammy - this week we heard from singer/songwriter James Bay.
Ìý
But it all started for the 29-year-old musician after uploading his tracks to Â鶹ԼÅÄ Music Introducing.
Ìý
Having received a fair amount of airplay, James was invited to perform a live session on his local Introducing show later landing the coveted Artist of the Week slot on Â鶹ԼÅÄ Radio 1.
Ìý
Five years on and we invited him back - to inspire the next generation.
