Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ National Orchestra & Chorus of Wales and Adrian Partington - world premiere of Stanford’s Mass Via Victrix (1914-1918) live from Cardiff.
Adrian Partington conducts the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ National Orchestra & Chorus of Wales for the world premiere of Charles Villiers Stanford’s Mass via Victrix (1914-1918). Live from Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Hoddinott Hall in Cardiff with Kiandra Howarth, Jess Dandy, Ruairi Bowen and Gareth Brynmor John, and presented by Nicola Heywood Thomas. As part of nationwide events marking the centenary of the end of World War One, Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ National Orchestra and Chorus of Wales give the world premiere of Charles Villiers Stanford’s Mass Via Victrix (1914-1918). The mass encapsulates both a sense of relief and celebration for the allied victory but also commemorates, with a deep sense of mourning and loss. Completed in December 1919, in memory of all those who died during the First World War, the work has never been performed in full, until now.
