Strange Letters

Ruth Strange was 23-years-old when one of her brothers went missing in action. Pilot Ben Strange disappeared, having gone on a morning patrol, on 24 September 1918. His body has never been found. Descendants of Ruth Strange have found letters she wrote to her parents, at the time he went missing. We're re-living the events of Ben's disappearance through Ruth's eyes. Ruth's words are voiced here by her great-granddaughter, Rachel Wheeler, and introduced by her grandson, Jonathan Wheeler.
