Metal is a genre of rock music that first developed in the late 1960s and early 1970’s - combining highly amplified distortion, extended guitar solos and overall loudness. What does the genre mean for women in music, and who are the female metal artists that we should know about? As part of this year’s Power List celebrating Women in Music, Jenni speaks to Eleanor Goodman, the deputy editor of Metal Hammer magazine, and the German singer Doro, one of the biggest names in heavy metal.
