Richard Nolan is a music producer, songwriter and session player, who lives just outside Weobley, in Herefordshire.

After working with various artists across Herefordshire, he's decided to put together his own project, influenced by Depeche Mode, The Killers and The Cure.

Dressed completed in silver, Richard's group - Vacation - opened up the Sunday of our 鶹Լ Introducing tent at Lakefest.

“Stunning electronica from one of Herefordshire’s most prolific producers" - Andrew Marston.

Music event

Music event
A one day festival, celebrating the 'diversity of Hereford and its relationship with people around the world' is taking place in the city tonight.

Local charity People In Motion are hosting their second-ever event called Under One Sky, featuring more than a dozen local bands, children’s crafts, face-painters, circus skills, arts, film, crafts, food and drink.

"The music, food, and activities all draw upon the positive idea that we are all one family, under the same sky. It really is important to show everyone how similar people are, even if they come from far-away places. If we can achieve this, then we can connect more to those who are in trouble, or need our support," explains Elaine, from People In Motion.

The charity came about after a Malvern mother and daughter visited a refugee camp in France two years ago. Haunted by the conditions they witnessed, and determined to help the people they met, Elaine and Kirsty returned knowing they had to do more.

Kirsty says: "Together our charity collects, sorts and transports aid across Europe and into Syria. We also volunteer in refugee camps, and support projects both in the UK and abroad that help displaced people."

The future of Worcester Arts Workshop

The future of Worcester Arts Workshop
The Worcester Arts Workshop, which has hosted live events and classes for nearly four decades, is to close.

But those in charge of the Sansome Street venue say it's only a temporary measure.

Chair of the trustees Ann Hannaford says a two-year closure from December is essential, while efforts are made to raise a million pounds to refurbish it.

She's scored five top-20 singles in just two years, topped the American Billboard dance charts and has been nominated for a Grammy three times.

British-born Jaki Graham wowed the audience at this year's Upton Festival with songs like Ain't Nobody, Could It Be I'm Falling In Love and Set Me Free.

Bad Manners were one of the many groups to take to the stage at this year's Upton Festival.

The group, which spent 111 weeks in the UK singles chart between 1980 and 1983, also achieved chart success with their first four studio albums.

Fronted by the charismatic Douglas Trendle AKA Buster Bloodvessel, we'll hear how they got banned from Top Of The Pops, Italian TV for mooning and why he's always got his tongue out in photographs.

This year, the Upton Festival welcomed big-named acts including Atomic Kitten, Bad Manners, The Three Degrees, Paul Young, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Kim Wilde and... 10-year-old singer Chloe.

Well, the Worcestershire girl tapped the organisers on the shoulder and said: "I'm a good singer, could I have a go?".

So they gave her the mic and put in front of the crowd on the second stage.

Highlights: Odyssey at Concert of Legends
Some of the biggest names in music have been in Worcester to perform at the Concert of Legends, which took place at the New Road cricket club.

Odyssey’s UK top 10 classic hits include Native New Yorker, Use It Up And Wear It Out, Looking For A Way Out, Inside Out and Going Back To My Roots as well as the rare groove soul anthem Don’t Tell Me Tell Her.

Their fusion of soul, pop, dance, jazz, funk and latin-caribbean rhythms continue to make them popular around the world. In the great tradition that has made them famous, Odyssey’s new releases carry their classic sound forward as “old school meets new school meets old school”.

Track of the Week: Rachel By The Stream

Track of the Week: Rachel By The Stream
She once lived in a caravan in Cornwall, looked for discarded musical instruments on Worcester tip, worked as a crystal polisher and a ghost hunter, and now writes beautiful songs about life, love and socks.

Rachel By The Stream regularly performed around Worcester before heading out for a life in the Australian sunshine.

Born in Bromsgrove, Rachel's first musical forays were in a band called Bint which attracted some record company interest: "Various suited men came to hear us play, ex-manager of Eric Clapton footed the bill for us to do some recording".

She spent a year studying abroad at a radical arts college in Portland, Oregon, that had been a hotseat for political activism in the '60s: "Very strange things went on there... live bug eating competitions, naked blue people, jazz classes, the college had its own nuclear reactor - no lie!".

She returned to the UK to visit family and play a few shows, so she popped in for a chat!

Tiny Tunes

Tiny Tunes
Right in the heart of Worcester, there's a mother and toddler group with a difference taking place once a month.

This isn't just an ordinary playgroup - with soft toys for the kids and cakes for the mums - there's also a classical concert going on.

Every month, professional musicians come along to St Martin's Church to play their music to an audience of under-5's and their parents.

Run in partnership with the Elgar School of Music, Tiny Tunes has been rocking up to venues in Worcester, Kidderminster, Evesham, Pershore and Great Malvern on the 4th Monday of the month.

Head teacher Janine Parsons says: "The modern world is dominated by the visual, and the art of listening is important to ensure a balanced all round development for our children. It particularly helps imagination to develop, which in turn fosters creativity and enables children to engage more effectively with academic material in later life. The art of listening is a soul activity, an activity that takes place in our inner being and helps to nourish the emotional development of a child."
