Trainspotting's youthful cast at the original 1996 world premiere

In February 1996, the cast and crew of new British film Trainspotting met up in Glasgow for its world premiere. Danny Boyle, Andrew Macdonald, Ewan McGregor, Jonny Lee Miller, Ewen Bremner, Kevin McKidd, Kelly Macdonald and Robert Carlyle all turned out to launch what many described as the film of the decade.

Shot in just seven weeks, on a relatively low budget, it went on to huge commercial success and an even bigger cultural impact, as well as launching the careers of many of the British film industry's key players.
