Highlights from the second Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Music Day on Friday 3 June 2016, uniting communities across different generations through music with over 400 events around the UK and 18 hours of live broadcasts on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ TV, Radio and digital.

The day culminated in a Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ One concert at the Eden Project starring Duran Duran, Laura Mvula and Izzy Bizu. A One Show special live from Eden also featured music legend Nile Rodgers.

Will Young and the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Singers performed in a tea warehouse, celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Service’s Workers Playtime for Radio 2 and Radio 3.

Unique musical collaborations took place over 40 bridges, from iconic structures like Tower Bridge and the Tees Transporter Bridge to quirkier crossings such as Norwich’s Bishop Bridge and Yorkshire’s Tadcaster Bridge.

Musical performances were held at Liverpool’s Waterfront, Belfast’s Stormont and Travis performed with the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Scottish Symphony Orchestra at Glasgow’s Barrowlands. Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio 6 Music celebrated the 40th anniversary of the Sex Pistols legendary gig at Manchester’s Free Trade Hall.

Musical events around the UK included the British Paraorchestra in Bristol, a gospel flash mob in Birmingham New Street station, a children’s vegetable orchestra with Shaun the Sheep and 22 diverse events across Sheffield.
