Ivanhoe Railway, BHS Closure & Leicester's Link with Whanganui, New Zealand

Monica Winfield sits in alongside Jim to start your day with the latest news and updates.

Proposals to reopen the old Ivanhoe railway line between Leicester and Burton are likely to be abandoned after a report claimed it would cost tens of millions of pounds. Leicestershire County Council had asked for the route to be reopened in 2014 as compensation for the pain caused by HS2 passing through the county.

After a ninety year history, the battle to save BHS is over - and it hasn't ended well. The retailer is going to be wound down after becoming the biggest high street casualty in 8 years.

Well it would seem that Leicester isn't the only city that's honouring the Foxes! We cross live to Whanganui, New Zealand and speak to Assistant Deputy Mayor Hamish McDouall after the naming of one of their new streets.
