Tasha's Story

A young cancer survivor who had her nose rebuilt after a rare form of the disease has become the face of Cancer Research UK's Race for Life in the region.

Tasha Jilka, from Hamilton, has helped create a touching video revealing the dramatic impact of cancer treatment which has changed her life forever.

The brave 23-year-old had to give up on her dream of becoming an actress following gruelling treatment which has left her in constant pain without a sense of smell.

Despite having to put up with stares and rude comments about her appearance, Tasha has summed up the courage to pose for the cameras to highlight the need for both awareness and research into all cancers.

And she is calling on thousands of mums, daughters, grans, friends and colleagues to unite with her at Cancer Research UK's Race for Life 5k, 10k and Pretty Muddy events which take place in Leicestershire during May, June and July.

Well she joined Jonathan Lampon to tell her story...
