An electoral process with a difference - Uganda's Movement political system

A look at Uganda's unique 'no party' democracy, the Movement political system. It was introduced in 1986 as a temporary measure with candidates standing as individuals to be elected on personal merit, and not as members of a political party. Contributors include Benjamin Odoki, Chief Justice of Uganda who was in charge of drawing up the system.
