Medicine Woman

How civil war threatens the traditional way of life, including folk healing, in Columbia

Old ways and new challenges in Columbia with this report from Guapi - one of the rainiest parts of the world, where houses are built on wooden stilts to prevent them from flooding. But this way of life is under assault from leftist guerilla groups, right-wing paramilitaries and the armed forces, causing once-isolated black communities to flee to the cities. But the traditional ways still survive - for now - including a belief in shamanism and the Evil Eye.
