Loughborough's Martyn Rooney speaks of "sense of relief" over appeal for World Championships
Loughborough-based sprinter Martyn Rooney has won his appeal after he was not selected for the Great Britain 400m squad for the World Championships.
Rooney had been selected for the 400m relay but appealed to British Athletics over his failure to make the individual event in Beijing.
There had been claims he hadn't reached the qualifying criteria, but a panel, including a QC in London, on Monday, overturned that decision following Rooney's appeal citing improvements in performances of late.
Rooney's been speaking to Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Leicester's Ian Stringer.
