The Heysel Stadium Disaster
Thirty-nine people were killed during the European Cup Final between Liverpool and Juventus on 29 May 1985. We hear from one Juventus fan who narrowly escaped death that night.
The European Cup Final on 29 May 1985 was supposed to be a celebration of football – a contest between two of Europe’s best teams - Liverpool and Juventus. But before kick-off a group of Liverpool supporters charged a section holding Juventus fans.
