Wudu

Kaisan, 12, from London, demonstrates how he washes before prayer (called ‘Salah’ in Arabic). Muslims make sure they are clean when they come to God, using the washing ritual called ‘Wudu’. The significance of wudu is a way of honouring God the creator. Mosques have a washroom for the ritual, and we see Kaisan wash his hands up to wrist, wash his mouth and nose, and his face, arms, head and feet in the way that he has been taught, and that is used by Muslims all over the world. He explains: ‘God is the creator, so he deserves to be worshipped clean!’
