Gemma Steele | Extended Interview
Shereen speaks with Gemma Steele who was just a teenager when she first left her home in South Uist in 2007...flying out to Kenya to do volunteer work at an orphanage in Nakuru.
The intervening years brought challenges aplenty....fundraising to help rebuild the orphanage in 2012...and returning to the task again after a gang armed with machetes ransacked the home. Gemma talks about her time there and the struggles she encountered and the recent completion of a new home for the orphans she cares for in Kenya.
