A Christmas Carol: Opera adaptation from 1962

The first operatic version of Charles Dickens' classic Christmas tale starred Stephen Manton as Scrooge - who in this clip is visited by the Ghost of Christmas Past, played by Edmund Donlevy.

Produced and designed by Hal Burton for the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ, with music by American composer Edwin Coleman and a libretto by Margaret Burns Harris, it was first screened on Christmas Eve 1962 and later shown in the USA.
