Celebrating his 80th birthday this year is composer Sir Peter Maxwell Davies and among his many achievements is the St Magnus Festival in Orkney, which he founded in 1977.
Martel Maxwell heads to the beautiful St Magnus Cathedral and meets 95 locals who make up the St Magnus Festival Chorus. They’ve been in rehearsals for a performance of Belshazzar’s Feast by William Walton to be performed with the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ singers and Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Scottish Symphony Orchestra on Sunday the 22nd of June.
