Why we are doing this and how you can participate
鶹Լ Radio Solent is running a competition called 'Give Me a Clue' to encourage interaction with our audience. The presenter describes items or things on a particular subject, for example 'Types of animals' and the contestant has to guess what he's describing. The prize for being top of the leader board or getting ten points is a 鶹Լ Radio Solent branded Bag For Life (Tote Bag).
You can enter by calling the phone number 0808 100 3 800, participants will be selected to play the “on-air” quiz using an independent randomised draw system and contacted by our production team.
The 鶹Լ production team will collect your personal data via a telephone platform used by the 鶹Լ for the purposes of administrating “鶹Լ Radio Solent Give Me a Clue Competition”.
If you’re selected to go live on air and your entry is broadcastby the 鶹Լ, this may include theprogrammeand/or your contributionbeing available across radio and online platform (including 鶹Լ social media pages on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook) and/or on demand, and your contribution may be used againby the 鶹Լin a future broadcast.
What the 鶹Լ will collect and how we will use it
You must be16or over to take part in this competition.The 鶹Լ will collect and process the personal data that you have provided to us about yourselffor this competition.The personal data will include:
· Your full name
· Your phone number
· Confirmation that you are at least 16 years of age
If you win the competition, we will also collect your postal address so that we can deliver the prize to you via Royal Mail. You may be invited to take part in post-competition publicity, such as share a photo with the prize on our social media platform.
Who is the Data Controller?
The 鶹Լ is the 'data controller' ofyour personal data. This means that the 鶹Լ decides what your personal data is used for, and the ways in which it is processed. For the avoidance of doubt, your personal data will be collected and processed solely for the purposes set out in this privacy notice. The legal basis on which the 鶹Լ processes your personal data is legitimate interests. It is in the 鶹Լ’s legitimate interests to process your personal data to manage the competition, to deliver the prize and to increase audience interaction through participation.

Sharing yourdata
When you take part in the competition,the 鶹Լ will share yourpersonaldata with its third-party data processor which provide the 鶹Լ withatelephoneplatform tofacilitatethiscompetition and recordyour entry. Our data processor only process your personal data on behalf of the 鶹Լ and not independently of the 鶹Լ.
We will not share your personal data with any other third parties unless required or permittedby the law.
Retaining your information
The 鶹Լ will retain entrant's personal data, including the audio trail, for six (6) months after the competition has ended, after which it will be deleted.
If you are a winner, the 鶹Լ will retain your personal data for a period of two years for regulatory reasons, after which it will be deleted.
If your contribution is used for broadcast, your personal data will be retained and archived in perpetuity by the 鶹Լ.
Your personal data will be stored within the UK.

Terms & Conditions
1. The competition is open to all residents of the UK, including the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man, aged 16 or over, except 鶹Լ or 鶹Լ Group company employees and anyone connected with the competition. Proof of age and eligibility may be requested.
2. The competition will be played during the 鶹Լ Radio Solent weekday breakfast programme with Alun Newman from Monday to Friday (except when editorial requirements lead to a change in schedule or a change in programme content).
3. During each programme there will be one round of the competition. Each time listeners will be invited to call in to register to play. The entry window will be open for around 25 minutes – the opening and closing times will vary so please listen to announcements during the programme.
4. Listeners can enter by calling 0808 100 3 800 (calls are free from landlines and mobiles). You may enter once per round of the competition – any additional entries or calls outside this window will not count.
5. For each round one entrant will be selected at random from those who call to play, a member of the production team will call them back so they can be put live on air to play the on-air quiz.
6. Once the entrant has chosen one of the categories offered, they will be given 60 seconds to correctly guess as many of the items from the category described by the presenter. The entrant will win a prize if they score 10 points. Contestants who get lower than 10 points will be added to the leaderboard and the contestant with the highest score will receive a prize and the end of the week.
7. Entrants must ensure that they are available on the telephone number provided to take the call from the production team if they are selected to play. If an entrant is not available after reasonable attempts by the production team (in the 鶹Լ’s sole discretion), another correct entrant will be randomly selected for that round of the quiz. There are contingencies for ties.
8. The prize is a 鶹Լ Radio Solent branded tote bag , known as the ‘鶹Լ Radio Solent Luxury Bag for Life’
9. The 鶹Լ’s decision as to prizes awarded is final. No correspondence relating to the competition will be entered into.
10. There is no cash alternative and the prize cannot be sold or transferred in any circumstances.
11. The 鶹Լ reserves the right to: (i) amend these terms and conditions; (ii) disqualify any entrant who breaches the rules. has acted fraudulently in any way or brings the 鶹Լ into disrepute; and (iii) disqualify an entrant or winner, withdraw or substitute any prize, should any entrant or winner at any stage exhibit inappropriate or dangerous behaviour (including, but not limited to being under the influence of alcohol, chemical substances or causing a nuisance).
12. Entrants will be invited to take part in any post-competition publicity.
13. Winners may not re-enter the competition for one week.
14. Entrants will be deemed to have accepted these terms and to agree to be bound by them when registering.
15. The 鶹Լ, its sub-contractors, subsidiaries and/or agencies cannot accept any responsibility whatsoever for any technical failure or malfunction or any other problem which may result in any entry not being properly registered.
16. To the extent permitted by law, the 鶹Լ will not be liable for any loss or damage (whether such damage or losses were foreseen, foreseeable, known or otherwise) including financial, reputational loss or disappointment.
17. The promoter of the competition is the British Broadcasting Corporation and the applicable law is the laws of England and Wales.
