Creating a landscape using teabags
Clare Goddard shares a few of her fashion designs, such as dresses made from old teabags. She explains how teabags can also be used to create pictures. The artist takes photos of the city in preparation for a teabag picture of her local environment. Clare encourages the audience to look at the shapes and colours within their town or city and to take photos to help create their own pictures. She draws her city out on a piece of cloth and shows how she uses teabags for her work: she empties them of their contents, dips them in food colouring and allows them to dry. The dyed teabag cases are stuck on to her outline, covering large areas at first and more detailed parts are then added. Chalk and matchsticks are used to emphasise details such as signs and fences.
