Venn diagrams
At the South Pole, two animated penguins are fishing through a hole in the ice. The first penguin only likes blue fish. The second penguin doesn’t care what colour the fish are, as long as they are triangular in shape. When they catch a fish that is neither blue nor triangular, the fish does not go into either of their nets.
Sometimes the penguins catch fish that are both blue and triangular. Both penguins like these fish, so they overlap the nets to make a Venn diagram. Blue and triangular fish can therefore be in both nets at the same time.
