The stock is low and he cannot work out what is needed for the flock. Samuel, the wise old owl, helps by constructing a pictogram. Gordon can then see exactly how many nuts, seeds and worms he needs. On another occasion, a pictogram is created where each picture represents two birds. Reading and interpreting the data is clearly explained.
