Doctors in Northamptonshire say too many people are ordering prescriptions they don't need, costing the NHS locally Β£4.6-million a year.

The two Clinical Commissioning Groups in Northamptonshire - Corby and Nene - say medicine wastage is a serious problem. They say some people with repeat prescriptions order more medication than they really need and stockpile it at home, putting unnecessary pressure on other areas of healthcare.

Reporter Willy Gilder undergoes a Medicines Use Review from a local pharmacist, while Stuart talks to Ruth Brittain, a prescribing advisor for the NHS in Northamptonshire, and to Mukesh Lad, the Chair of Pharmacy Northamptonshire, the committee which represents community pharmacists in the county.
