Dance - inspiration from the station
The structured and angular environment of the railway station sets the backdrop for this interpretive dance piece. The train station is a place where there is a constant flow of people passing through; arriving, departing, waiting for trains. These natural movements are brought to the fore and amplified by the choreography, as the dancers weave amongst the passengers in a space that's never still. There's the tide of commuters clogging up the stairs; the criss-crossing of passengers wheeling suitcases back and forth; people repeatedly checking the time, watching the board and hunting in their pockets for the ticket they think they've lost.
