Acidic, alkaline or neutral
An introduction to the concepts of acidic, alkaline or neutral chemicals. The presenter explains why it is important to know if household substances are acidic, alkaline or neutral. The use of universal indicator paper, which changes colour in the presence of acids and alkalis, is demonstrated. Cola, which is acidic, turns the paper red, whereas bleach, which is alkaline, turns the paper blue.
