Roman innovations for urban living
An examination of clean water and sewage disposal in Roman cities. How did the Romans find solutions to disease-causing problems such as sewage and dirty water? We see how fresh water was piped to public fountains through lead pipes. Standing by the remains of a Roman villa, the presenter explains that although these innovations were brought to Britain, the way the general population lived was unaffected during and after the Roman occupation.
