In a studio-theatre setting, a group of young people perform a simple African drumming warm-up exercise led by a drum master. At the end of the warm-up an animated Widgit symbol for ‘your turn’ appears on-screen. The piece is repeated. During the repeat the drum master performs to camera, directing viewers in the classroom to accompany him. An animated Widgit symbol marks the rhythm; providing viewers with a reference and indicating precisely when they should play.
