Shanghai has long been the fashion centre of China and Wang Lei uses this to his advantage. He has already set up three highly successful hairdressing salons, but is now going a step further to promote image consultancy - styling oneself outwardly to match one's professional status. It's a new concept in China, but he's targeting a high-profile clientele who can appreciate his concept. Chinese culture has traditionally emphasised inner beauty - the cultivation of moral values, manners and knowledge. Having studied in the West, Wang Lei sees that outward appearance is also important.
