Anger at lack of hospital buses in West Kent

Matt Davison sits in alongside Clare with the latest news, travel, and weather for Kent.

Campaigners say a withdrawal of a commitment to run more bus services to the new Tunbridge Wells hospital is "dishonest dealing".

The additional routes were a condition of the planning permission given to the Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust before the hospital was built, but the Trust says it now cannot afford to run the extra buses. The Kent patients watchdog will meet managers today over the issue.

The Chief Executive of the Hospital joins us in the Hotseat after 08.30 (06:07, 07:07 and 08:07).

Also, deer, rabbits and fish are being poached by criminal gangs across Kent, posing a risk to public health, animal welfare and legitimate businesses. The police say they are getting better at catching the culprits, but are expecting the problem to get worse in the run up to Christmas (06:22, 07:22 and 08:22).

And, you will know the connection Charles Dickens has with Rochester, but did you know about his connections with the Isle of Sheppey?

In fact, it could even be Fagin, in Oliver Twist, who was based on a man on the island who Dickens would have met when he lived there as a boy.

A three day series of events, the "What the Dickens Promenade" begins today in Bluetown in Sheerness (07:48).
