Fears about Desborough waste plant

People living in Desborough claim a waste plant proposed for Magnetic Park on the edge of the town won't be safe, but experts say emissions would be cleaned before being released into the air.

People in Desborough say a waste plant planned for Magnetic Park on the Northern edge of the town won't be safe. Ahead of the plans being considered by Kettering Borough Council, reporter Rebecca Dickson talks to some of the anxious residents and Stuart talks to Steve Lee, the chief executive of the Northampton-based Chartered Institution of Waste Management, and to Dr Margaret Bates, manager of the Centre for Sustainable Waste Management at the University of Northampton.

Phli Milligan, Chief Executive of the East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS), tells Stuart that details are set to be announced about the ambulance stations that will close in Northamptonshire.
