East Kent unemployed do not want to work claims Kent businessman

A Kent businessman claims out of work people in one of the county's unemployment hotspots are not interested in working, and lack the skills needed to secure jobs. Recruitment consultant Paul Andrews from Thanet says there are plenty of jobs available locally but many people just do not want to do them.

It comes as Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Kent begins a close look at the economy in East Kent with all our programmes coming live from the area tomorrow (06:07, 07:07 and 08:07).

The number of homeless people in Kent is rising - leading to calls for more to be done deal with the problem. The picture across Kent is one of growing concern to homeless charities following figures from Department for Communities and Local Government.

Analysing figures for each of the district and borough councils in Kent and Medway shows there is a sustained increase in the number of people needing help with somewhere to live (06:25, 07:22 and 08:22).
