Plans for an airport in the Thames Estuary would be "devastating", according to Ken Livingstone, Labour's candidate for London mayor.

The former holder of the position, who is standing again on 3 May, has weighed into the estuary airport debate, with a resounding rejection of a proposal put forward by his Conservative rival Boris Johnson.
