Is wildlife more important than Kent jobs?
Today we are told a new wildlife haven in North Kent could scupper plans for a major new airport here in the county.
Campaigners say it would be tantamount to environmental vandalism to locate an airport on the Isle of Grain. However, we need jobs here in the county.
The country needs this airport if we are to compete and have the sort of lives we are used to in the future.
It might be a lovely idea to scrap big building projects to protect nature. Can we really afford to?
People in the county need work.
A survey of more than 3,000 dog owners in six countries has found that British shops, pubs and restaurants are the least "dog-friendly" in Europe.
73% of those surveyed said they felt their dogs were not welcome in the pub.
The model and TV presenter Jodie Kidd is backing a campaign to make places more hospitable to man's best friend.
