Margate has the second worst rate of empty shops in the country. More than a third of all in the town are vacant.

Chatham and Dartford are both struggling in a similar vein with around a quarter of premises in the towns unused.

Should we call time on our high streets and accept that supermarkets are the future? What is your town centre like? Is it a ghost town?

Maybe you work in retail and have first hand experience of opening or closing a high street shop? Have you had to fight to keep your business going? Do you want to save our high streets?

We hear your views and personal experiences.

Also on the programme, Julia marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of Kent's most famous author, Charles Dickens, by speaking to Casia Kajac from the British Council, who today launched an international Dickens read-athon (10.32).

We also find out why Dickens has such an appeal around the world by catching up with a New York film crew capturing the atmosphere in Rochester (11.36).

And have you ever been a victim of an email scam? Julia received an email from her dad claiming he was in dire need of money in Madrid. She would have been more worried if she had not known he was safe and well in Cranbrook!

Have you ever had an email like this? How did it happen? Have you ever been caught out?

Linking in with the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's Share Take Care campaign to raise awareness of safeguarding private information online, Julia chats to Tony Neate, Managing Director of Get Safe Online, who offers tips on how to stay safe on the web (11.07).
