Should assisted dying be just for the terminally ill?

Why shouldn't we all be allowed to choose to die when we've had enough?

Tony Nicklinson from Goudhurst wants to die, he cannot move, talk or do anything for himself after he suffered a severe stroke seven years ago. However, a new report on assisted dying says people like Tony should not be given help to die. Instead a group of medical and legal experts says assisted dying should only be available to people who are terminally ill and would die within a year anyway.

Tony's wife Jane says today's report is a wasted opportunity, she and her husband are profoundly disappointed.

The government has no plans to introduce legislation to change the law on assisted dying?
