Meopham residents planning protest

We have heard a lot on the programme recently about the government's controversial proposed changes to plannng laws.

This weekend residents in Meopham near Gravesend are taking to the streets to protest against plans, which they say will lead to hundreds of houses being built on greenfield sites (06:07, 07:07 and 08:07.)

Tomorrow church leaders in the Diocese of Rochester will vote on one of the most controversial and hotly debated issues in their history, whether to allow women priests to become bishops.

So far, 21 out of the 22 districts of the Church of England that have voted are in favour of the move, including Canterbury. Will Rochester follow suit (06:25, 07:22 and 08:22.)

The Soweto Gospel Choir is kicking off this years Canterbury Festival in style this weekend, with their performance at Canterbury Cathedral.

Over the next two weeks, 70 thousand people are expected to come enjoy Kent's biggest arts festival (08:48 and 08:53.)
