A man-made fishing loch is a great habitat for ospreys as the loch is kept well stocked with lots of fish. Before Gordon Buchanan even puts his tripod down he spots the first osprey - things are looking good. He was expecting the usual three hour wait. Although he's been told that the ospreys aren't normally bothered by people, one flew over and just flew off again, so Gordon heads over to the bird-watching shelter for a better chance of filming. The pond here is quite calm whereas back there the ripples were really disturbing the surface and from high up it must be quite difficult for the ospreys to see the fish below. Four ospreys flying above the water and a trial dive sets Gordon's heart racing as he keeps expecting it to fly past. Finally he films it catching a fish.
