Legless amphibians
Salamanders have small legs, but caecilians have lost them altogether. Legs would be in the way for burrowing. They look rather like earthworms. Every rainforest has caecilians hiding in the leaf litter. A mother caecilian and her litter of young are in an underground den. The baby caecilians feed on their mother's secretions, but they have teeth and every now and then go into a frenzy and rip at her skin. She has made a special fat-rich skin for them to eat and regrows it every three days.
