When the Allies bombed Dresden in 1945 they reduced the historic German town to rubble - and many of the people who died were civilians.

The firebombing of Dresden has gone down in history as one of the most controversial Allied attacks. Many of the victims were civilians, and the city's architectural heritage was destroyed. Witness talks to a man who lived through the bombing raids.
