Simply getting to the best filming sites of the largest population of giant tortoises was a long logistical exercise. Equipment had to be helicoptered in and a team of porters was then used to access the prime sites, inside Alcedo volcano's vast crater, where cameraman Paul Stewart knew the unique finch behaviour occurred.
