Julia Booth's Saturday Breakfast

North Yorkshire's essential weekend wake up call, great guests, the Saturday Papers and of course The Plant Surgery with Nigel.

Julia joined the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ at 18, and has spent her whole career in broadcasting. She's been an announcer on Radio 4, was Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ TV Look East's first woman reporter and has worked on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ local radio in London, Cambridge, Essex, Leeds and York.

She met her husband and fellow Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio York presenter Jules Bellerby at Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Essex in the 1980s and knew when she took him on, that one day he'd need to come back home to Yorkshire. Along with their daughters, they csettled in York in the 90s. Julia has never really developed a Yorkshire accent but thinks her vowels might have flattened just a bit.

Julia is also a counsellor/psychotherapist, and runs her private practice from home as well as presenting the Saturday Breakfast Show.

She confesses to a worm phobia and a dislike of sensible shoes which has held her back a bit with the gardening on a Saturday, but has successfully kept some oregano alive for six months thanks to Nigel Harrison's expert advice.
