Normal Rules Don't Apply

Another in our occasional series of specially curated concerts bringing together leading contemporary authors with the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Symphony Orchestra at The Barbican in London.

Kate Atkinson is one of the UK's leading contemporary authors and this very special event is the latest in our occasional series, bringing together her remarkable writing and performance with classical music from the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Symphony Orchestra.

We worked with Kate to chose extracts from her extensive prose canon and matched those with suitable pieces of music to make an unforgettable evening at The Barbican in London, recorded for both Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radios 3 and 4.

This presentation for Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio 4 is an edited version of the full concert, which will be broadcast on Radio 3 at a later date. Each extract is introduced and read by Kate Atkinson.

The chosen readings came from the following publications, written by Kate Atkinson:
Behind The Scenes at the Museum
A God In Ruins
The Void (taken from Normal Rules Don't Apply)
