Hannah Lavery's Unwritten Woman; Treasure Island at The Royal Lyceum.

Len Pennie talks to poet Hannah Lavery about her show inspired by Robert Louis Stevenson's novella, The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde.

Today, Len hears about two intriguing and insightful new adaptations of classic works by Robert Louis Stevenson which are hitting the stage in Edinburgh, his home city, in the next few days.

Poet, playwright and performer Hannah Lavery and composer Kate Young speak about working together on Unwritten Woman, a stage show inspired by the female characters in Stevenson’s 1886 novella, The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde.

And writer Duncan McLean and assistant director Katie Slater from The Royal Lyceum theatre are also with Len. Their brand new Christmas production of Stevenson’s 1883 novel, Treasure Island, sees the action transferred from a Caribbean island to one in Orkney.
