20 years of Sound Festival

Celebrating Scotland's classical world, Jamie MacDougall highlights the work of the ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Scottish Symphony Orchestra in concert and other Scottish artists and ensembles.

Jamie MacDougall kicks things off this week with a piano fugue from… Nina Simone and follows it with news from Sound Festival in its 20th year. Festival Director Fiona Robertson picks the best new music events for first-time festival goers including a performance by world famous percussionist Evelyn Glennie. Jamie has music by Fanny Mendelssohn ahead of Jeneba Kanneh-Mason’s appearances in Scotland, and another chance to hear the ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Scottish Symphony Orchestra with conductor Sir Donald Runnicles performing Mahler and Bruckner from the Edinburgh International Festival.
