County Down 6
Roo Irvine goes back in time to celebrate the iconic DeLorean DMC-12, while experts Caroline Hawley and Thomas Forrester captain two teams of siblings in the village of Greyabbey.
Great Scott! Roo Irvine gets behind the wheel of a DeLorean DMC-12, the car that famously featured as a time machine in the 1985 hit movie Back to the Future. Built on the peace lines in Northern Ireland, the DMC-12’s design was ahead of its time, with its angular, stainless-steel bodywork and eye-catching, gull-wing doors. At the Ulster Transport Museum, Roo meets two men who test-drove the first cars to come off the production line.
Two teams are hoping for a blockbuster shop in Greyabbey, County Down, where they browse a village of antiques shops. Keeping them on the straight and narrow are their experts, Thomas Forrester and Caroline Hawley.
Sisters in red, Dee and Mandy, pin their hopes on an American brooch until they see the price. Meanwhile, brothers Sammy and Richard radiate enthusiasm for a piece of uranium glass, but Thomas isn’t so sure!
It’s all to play for in Belfast, where auctioneer Jonathan Esdale is on the rostrum – but which team will go home with the most money in their pockets?
