Dreams of Glory: The Glentoran Story
East Belfast football club Glentoran was saved from financial collapse by a new owner. This documentary follows the club’s fight to reclaim the glory days of its past.
With exclusive access to Glentoran Football Club for the duration of the 2021-2024 seasons, this documentary charts three years of highs and lows during which the club adjusts to new ownership, while the team pursues a comeback to its former glory.
But Glentoran is more than just a football club, it’s a Belfast institution. A football club forged from shipyard steel in the shadow of Belfast’s iconic Harland & Wolff cranes, and battered by the fallout of two World Wars. Every year their players and gallant die-hard band of loyal supporters make the pilgrimage, week in week out to the rust-ridden Oval stadium, in hope of a brave new dawn.
