The first round of the Davy Back Fight is a race around the island. Luffy and his crew separate into three teams and make their boats with barrels. All the boats line up at the starting line, and the race starts. But as soon as the boats take off, a giant boat from Foxy鈥檚 team releases bombs shaped like barrels, and their explosions create a huge tidal wave. The contestants safely ride out the wave, but Portier, Foxy鈥檚 sidekick and the favorite of the race, has her teammates delay Luffy鈥檚 team with another tactic. When they finally get back into the race, Zolo and Chopper鈥檚 team are attacked by an opponent鈥檚 team, and they get disqualified when their boat breaks apart and sinks. Now only Nami鈥檚 team, with Usopp and Robin, and Luffy鈥檚 team, with Sanji, are still in the race. They are headed towards the course鈥檚 most difficult obstacle, the Long Coral Reef and the Long Cape. They must also deal with the sly Foxy, who is a genius at dirty tricks and interfering with people.
