Talking to Nemone, who combines her roles of DJ and qualified psychotherapist, Alison reveals how her personal experiences are woven through her own art. It’s a chance to understand her relationship with music more intimately, to learn more about how she has uses sound to communicate, and how she has reached the place we meet her in today.

The Kills released their sixth studio album 'God Games' last October. The band, formed in 2000, passionately entwines Alison Mosshart’s primal vocals with Jamie Hince’s laidback drawl. In early 2009, she joined the supergroup The Dead Weather, formed by Jack White. Alison has also exhibited her artwork across the globe whilst being hailed as a style muse variously from Vogue magazine to Vice.

In this programme, Alison shares her stories of growing up in the sleepy town of Vero Beach in Florida, how she convinced her parents to let her travel abroad as a young teenager with first band 'Discount' and her surprising love of 'Annie' the musical. She recalls how she met her bandmate Jamie Hince on a trip to London and how the process of writing remotely with her "musical soulmate" shaped the band's sound. Alison also shares her experiences of letting go on stage and long car journeys as a form of self-care and how she has maintained a level of mystique in a world of social media and press intrusion. Featuring music from Led Zepplin, Gang Green, PJ Harvey, Fugazi, The Dead Weather and Captain Beefheart.
